Universal compatibility, one constraint at a time

Make any image fit the limit.

Drop a photo and name the size ceiling. FileFit finds the clearest result below it, then checks every byte before you download.

01 / TARGET-SPECIFIC GUIDE

Why this ceiling

For limits that are not a preset

Custom targeting avoids guessing with quality percentages. Describe the real constraint in KB or MB and the same adaptive engine plans around that maximum.

BEST FOR
  • Unusual application limits such as 75KB or 350KB
  • Megabyte limits such as 1MB or 2MB
  • A safer target below a site's ambiguous advertised maximum
TRADEOFF

Give the engine a precise ceiling

Use the unit shown by the destination and leave a small margin when its definition is unclear. FileFit accepts limits from 2KB through 25MB and reports the resulting byte count.

CHECK AFTER
  1. The active target matches the number and unit you intended
  2. The comparison still preserves the detail your destination needs
  3. Every validation check passes before you download
02 / THE DIFFERENCE

A measured result

Compression is an action.
Compatibility is an outcome.

01

Inspect

We verify the file signature, dimensions, format, and size before planning a change.

02

Search

The engine tests dimension and quality combinations instead of applying a generic preset.

03

Validate

The output is checked independently against the actual byte limit before it is called ready.

03 / HOW IT WORKS

Adaptive exact-size engine

Every byte has a job.

A percentage slider cannot know your upload limit. FileFit starts with the constraint, preserves a high visual-quality floor, then uses the available byte budget as fully as the image allows.

05 / STRAIGHT ANSWERS

Before you drop a file

Nothing vague.

Can I enter a target in MB instead of KB?

Yes. Enter a clear phrase such as “under 2 MB” or “max 1.5 MB.” FileFit converts the limit into bytes before processing.

What custom sizes are accepted?

The current engine accepts targets from 2KB through 25MB. Values outside that range are rejected instead of silently producing an unexpected result.

Does the image upload anywhere?

No. The image is decoded, resized, encoded, and checked inside your browser. Network transfer for the image is zero bytes.

What happens to GPS and camera metadata?

It is not copied into the new JPEG. The result contains the rendered image pixels, which also avoids spending the size budget on invisible data.

Which image formats can I start with?

FileFit currently accepts JPG, PNG, WebP, and AVIF images and produces a standard JPEG result. It checks the file signature instead of trusting only the filename extension.
